Yep shallow depth of field works really fine with it. Gives nice bookeh effect (but I should test it on the outside) It's only lack of vibration reduction but it was only lens which fits to my budget and I think I can do good work with it anyway...

Ah I think the lense is okay... It's mostly a matter of light... So with natural light it will be much easier. At least this is my experience ^^
